Singapore Salutogenic Nursing (SUN) Research Programme

The ICN Accredited Singapore Salutogenic Nursing (SUN) Research Programme is located within the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies (ALCNS) in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUSMed) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The overall mission of the SUN Research Programme is to implement interventions impacting a healthier community. The aims of the SUN Research Programme are to improve patient outcomes through implementation of evidence-based practice, mentor novice clinical and academic researchers, conduct high quality research projects and attract quality higher degree research students. ALCNS staff and resources will provide support needed to achieve these aims. Within the SUN Research Programme, ALCNS academics, researchers and postgraduate research students have been and are focusing their research according to the three themes: (i) Chronic illness and long term care; (ii) Women and child health; and (iii) Patient safety and quality care. Centre goals include, 1) using ICNP to support evidence-base nursing and midwifery practice, 2) educate and promote the ICNP terminologies and definitions, 3) understand and build upon the ICNP framework in facilitating and 4) collaborate with ICN and other ICNP Research and Development Centres.
