The Swedish ICNP Research & Development Centre

The overall mission of the Swedish ICNP Research & Development Centre is to function as a national unifying force regarding development, validation and use of the International Classification of Nursing Practice (ICNP)in nursing practice in Sweden. Another mission is to serve as a forum for researchers with interest in ICNP and to promote and support research. To achieve this, the centre's mission is to be a hub for information, knowledge development and support to advance the integration and use of the ICNP in clinical nursing practice as well as in education and nursing research. The centre will also work with the development of standardized national nursing care plans.

The Centre is located within the Swedish Society of Nursing, co-funded with the Swedish trade union Association of Health Professionals, collaborating internationally and nationally, e.g. with the Swedish eHealth agency (national release center for Snomed CT) and The National Board of Heath and  Welfare.
