As we kick off the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife, ICN, along with its partners Nursing Now and Jhpiego, is pleased to announce the #NursingInFocus Photo Contest.

Nurses and midwives play an essential role in ensuring a healthier world for everyone, everywhere. They are the backbone of our shared goals for universal health coverage, and the foundation to our efforts to extend primary health care services to all. Over the course of this special year, we want to highlight the vast scope of work carried out by nurses as they innovate, lead, care for and inspire us with their dedication to the nursing profession.

The aim of this competition is to encourage the nursing community to share photos that inspire and celebrate the impact and influence of nursing. The contest is open now and will close on 1 March 2020

There are several categories, including: #NurseAtWork, #FutureNurse, #WhereINurse, #WhyINurse and #NurseImpact. In order to submit your photograph, you must post it to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag: #NursingInFocus. If you’re entering one of the five categories, you must additionally include the hashtag for the category you are entering.

There are prizes for the overall winner, category winners, and the people’s choice. This is an excellent opportunity to shine a light on the wonderful work carried out by nurses everywhere and we urge you to get involved!
