ICN joins other healthcare organisations in expressing its deep concern at US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade

Geneva, Switzerland; 27 June 2022 - The International Council of Nurses (ICN) is deeply concerned by the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v Wade effectively removing the right for women to access high quality sexual and reproductive health care and infringing the rights of women. The ruling of the U.S. Supreme Court in Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturns the landmark 50-year-old Roe v Wade case erasing the federal right to abortion and has major consequences for nursing professionals, and patients mental and physical health.
