The Romanian Nursing Association (ANR) was founded in March 1990, as Romanian non-governmental, nonprofit, nonpolitical, professional organization. In 1997 ANR joined ICN, EFNNMA, and EFN.

Mission

To provide leadership, knowledge and skills for quality nursing education and practice.We support the professional development of our members who are looking to improve nursing care in our country.

In 1990, ANR introduced the concept of nursing in Romania, and worked together the Ministry of Health and with international experts, sent by  WHO, to support the development of nursing curriculum, for “Sanitary School Post High School” for preparation of nurses in conformity with EU standards , through a program for 3 years and 4.600 hours

ANR worked with Hospital Association, and together developed the Standards for Hospital Accreditation (with the help of Joint Commission).

Expertise in: professional training, developing nursing curriculum, organizing workshops, conferences, editing informative materials and manuals as support for the developed projects, publishing of nursing books, translation of nursing books, materials published during International Nurses Day – ICN.
