Hoi Shan Fokeladeh has been with ICN since 2018. She is a global health professional with international health policy and clinical field work experience in both intergovernmental organisations and civil society.

Hoi Shan develops ICN policy on a wide range of subjects including protection of the well-being of nurses in health emergencies, primary health care, immunization, and patient safety.

She also collaborates closely with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and other key partners in the Health Care in Danger (HCiD) initiative to safeguard healthcare in conflict and non-conflict settings.

Hoi Shan is committed to advancing the nursing profession and developing strategies for global health issues.

Hoi Shan took a lead in data collection, analysis and monitoring of COVID-19-related infections and deaths in nurses during the pandemic, andco-authored a report on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health workforce.

Her past work includes humanitarian policy and guidance for emergency operations at the World Health Organization in Geneva and field experience with the refugee population in the humanitarian sector.
