Nurse Leadership for Crisis Response and Recovery (NLCRR) - FAQ

What is NLCRR? 

Nurse Leadership for Crisis Response and Recovery (NLCRR) is a leadership development project designed to support mid-career and senior nurses in Ukraine. It provides training in crisis leadership, mental health support, communication, and healthcare recovery through a blend of online and in-person learning. 

Who is eligible to apply? 

The project is open to: 

  • Mid-career and senior nurses in Ukraine 

  • Nurses currently in leadership roles in hospitals, emergency services, primary care, education, or policy 

  • Applicants must live and work in Ukraine throughout the duration of the project 

How many participants will be accepted? 

Up to 25 nurses will be selected to participate, ensuring a high-quality, personalized learning experience. 

How long is the project? 

The full duration is approximately 6 months, including all three core training phases: 

  1. Pre-study phase (online) 

  1. In-person workshop (in Ukraine) 

  1. Mastermind groups (online) 

Is the project 100% online? 

No. The project includes one in-person module—a 4-day workshop in Ukraine—which is a mandatory part of the training. Participants must be able to attend in person. 

Is the project free? 

Yes. The project is fully funded by Nurses for Peace (N4P) and developed by the International Council of Nurses (ICN) in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Health Organization. 

Is funding available for travel or accommodation? 

Yes.

Will the training be in Ukrainian? 

Yes. The training and materials will be either directly delivered in Ukrainian or translated from English.

What are the requirements to complete the project? 

Participants must: 

  • Be present and actively participate in all three modules (online and in-person) 

  • Complete assignments and activities within the LMS 

  • Engage in mastermind group sessions 

  • Fulfill any additional requirements outlined in the finalized assessment framework (to be confirmed with ICN) 

Please note: Attendance at all phases of the project is mandatory. Without full participation, certification cannot be awarded. 

What are Mastermind Groups (online)?

An online mastermind for adult learning is a collaborative group where participants share knowledge, solve challenges together, and support each other’s growth through guided discussion and peer learning.

Will I receive a certificate? 

Yes, participants who complete the full project will receive an official Certificate of Completion, endorsed by ICN and aligned with leadership development and crisis response competencies. Participants will also receive continuous education credits ICNEC.  

How will my progress be assessed? 

The project includes: 

  • Pre- and post-project self-assessments 

  • Feedback from the facilitators  

  • Access to renowned lead trainer  

  • LMS engagement tracking and quizzes 

  • Feedback surveys after each module 

  • Your involvement and network actions  

  • A final Impact Report summarizing outcomes and participant development
