The International Council of Nurses (ICN) has released a new report detailing its contributions to the 73rd World Health Assembly (WHA73) and the 148th WHO Executive Board meeting (EB148).

On 9-14 November 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) held a resumed session of the 73rd World Health Assembly following the reduced (de minimis) meeting of 18-19 May 2020. See here for WHA73 closing remarks by ICN CEO Howard Catton.

The 148th WHO EB was held 19-26 January 2021. See here for EB148 closing remarks by Howard Catton and here for ICN’s key messages.

The report also covers the agenda item “COVID-19 response” during the de minimis session held in May 2020 and certain written procedure items that were summarized at WHA73. It provides a brief overview of agenda items that are of particular importance to nursing and to ICN and its member National Nurses Associations.
