ICN’s Global Nursing Leadership Institute (GNLI)™ 2020 calls senior nurses from around the globe to apply!

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) is pleased to announce that applications for the 2020 cohort of its prestigious Global Nursing Leadership Institute (GNLI)™ programme are now open.

The GNLI is a six-month programme taught in English by internationally renowned nurse leaders Jane Salvage and Diana J. Mason.

It is designed to equip the world’s top nurses with the skills they need to influence healthcare policy making at the very highest level so that they can improve the health of the populations they serve and help to determine the future state of the nursing profession.

It comprises three modules, including a residential week from 18 to 25 September, and uses a variety of learning tools and teaching methods, including communication, collaboration and coaching, to focus on personal and professional development to help participants become the best leaders that they can be.

Applicants for the programme must be registered nurses or midwives working at a very senior level, including in governments or the civil service, nursing regulatory bodies, large national or international health organisations, professional nursing associations or trade unions, nursing education, research and development settings, or in advanced clinical practice roles.

GNLI builds on ICN’s impressive legacy of working with senior nurses from around the world to increase their leadership understanding and expertise. Generously supported by the Burdett Trust for Nursing (United Kingdom) and other partners, it has taken place annually since 2009, enhancing nursing leadership around the world.
