The Israeli Nursing Association is the professional union that brings together all nurses employed in the hospitals, in health maintenance organization (HMO) (Klalit Health Services), in preventive care and Maternal and Child Health, and Nursing Academic Schools. As a professional union - the Nursing Association works to protect the professional and social rights of its members, to improve their working conditions and the salary, and to promote their professional interests. In addition, the Association strives to improve the image and prestige of the nursing profession, and to preserve its moral and ethical standards. All of this by signing general and special professional labor agreements, organizing education activities and professional training, maintaining and managing an educational funds.
The Nurses Association strives to create a balance between its various goals and roles: the benefit of the individual from the unity of the group, the promotion of social rights while maintaining the quality of the profession and the status of the nurse, positioning the nurse at the forefront but not at the expense of the patient, promoting the affairs of nurses alongside with solidarity of other professions.
