El Consejo Internacional de Enfermeras (CIE) se solidariza con las enfermeras de todo el mundo que trabajan en primera línea de las emergencias sanitarias humanitarias, ya sean guerras y conflictos políticos provocados por el hombre, o catástrofes naturales como terremotos, inundaciones y sequías. El CIE se siente inmensamente orgulloso de apoyar a estas valientes y resistentes enfermeras que siguen proporcionando unos cuidados muy necesarios a pesar de los peligros personales a los que se enfrentan en su trabajo.

Para expresar su solidaridad, el CIE lanzó su Fondo Humanitario en 2010, inicialmente en respuesta al terremoto de Haití, y su campaña #NursesforPeace tras la invasión de Ucrania en 2022. #NursesforPeace ha evolucionado para recaudar fondos para las enfermeras que trabajan en primera línea en situaciones de emergencia en todo el mundo y para llamar la atención del público sobre las amenazas asociadas a los sistemas de atención de salud pública. A través de sus dedicados esfuerzos humanitarios y su financiación, el CIE ya ha apoyado a personal de enfermería en múltiples zonas en crisis, como Líbano, Palestina, Israel, Ucrania, Myanmar, Afganistán y Sudán.

As the ICN CEO says nurses’ commitment is unwavering to patients and with your support, 30 million nurses around the world remain a resolute army for global peace.

To demonstrate global solidarity with nurses working in extremely difficult circumstances, ICN is inviting nurses, nursing associations and partners around the world to take part in a visible show of support through its #NursesforPeace initiative.

Nurses and teams are encouraged to download the #NursesforPeace banner, take a photograph holding or displaying it with colleagues, and send it to [email protected]. These images will form a growing global display of support and will be shared with ICN’s National Nursing Associations and the nurses they represent across the Middle East and Gulf region to show clearly that they are not alone.

Photos already shared by President Dr Cobos at the ANMC conference in Zambia and ICN Chief Executive Officer Howard Catton at CNAI conference in Italy demonstrate how the initiative is beginning to mobilise the global nursing community.
