Leadership for Change

Leadership for Change™ (LFC) is an action-learning programme to develop nurses as effective leaders and managers in a constantly changing health environment. ICN delivers the LFC Programme in country, working directly either with the Ministry of Health, the national nurses association or other appropriate provider institution in relation to planning and implementation. The programme is primarily aimed at developing the in country capacity for strategic leadership and has been immensely successful in over 60 countries to date.

The Taiwan Nurses Association (TWNA) continues to host the International Council of Nurses (ICN) Leadership for Change (LFC) programme. Nineteen nurse leaders from Taiwan, Myanmar and Indonesia met from 26-29 March 2018, in Taipei, Taiwan for the second of three workshops. The program opened with key words from important leaders (Dr. Lian-Hua Huang, Dr. Hsiu-Hung Wang, Dr. Shwu-Feng Tsay). The opening ceremony also included an overview of the ICN Nursing Now Campaign. The current programme is being led by Dr. Kristine Qureshi, who is the ICN Global Director of the ICN LFC Programme. Dr. Qureshi noted that graduates of the LFC programme will be well prepared to serve as a voice for nursing, effect change to improve health and contribute to policy formulation and decisions that improve health for all. This is consistent with the goals of the Nursing Now Campaign
