SAVE THE DATE: 9-13 June 2025

The theme of ICN Congress 2025 in Helsinki is The Power of Nurses to Change the World, demonstrating the crucial role nurses play in transforming health care delivery, enhancing access to care and influencing health policies worldwide.

In Finland, Land of the Midnight Sun, Congress 2025 will serve as a global call to action for nurses to lead, innovate and collaborate in the transformation of health care, demonstrating nursing's indispensable role in creating a healthier world for all.

Following on from the successes of Congress 2023 in Montreal, Canada, Congress 2025 will provide nurses with opportunities to build relationships and disseminate nursing knowledge and leadership across specialties, cultures and countries. Participants will hear and learn from expert speakers, government leaders, and influential trailblazers in nursing and health care.

2025 marks the Finnish Nurses Association’s centenary, and the 100th anniversary of the last time Finnish nurses hosted ICN Congress, also in Helsinki in 1925.

Inviting nurses to attend Congress 2025, ICN President Dr Pamela Cipriano said:

“We are delighted to be collaborating with the Finnish Nurses Association on preparations for next year’s ICN Congress 2025 in Helsinki. Congress is the place to be to contribute and share in the further development of our powerful and influential profession.

"The global community’s goals of Universal Health Coverage and Health for All will only be achieved with massive investment in nursing, and Congress is the place where we can best demonstrate what nursing is capable of, if we are given the means to achieve our amazing potential. Come with us and join the global family of nurses as we drive the health of the world’s population forward into a better future.”

Finnish Nurses Association President Dr Heljä Lundgrén-Laine said participants can expect a warm welcome in Helsinki:

“We are eagerly anticipating welcoming you to Helsinki! It is a great honour for the FNA to be hosting the 2025 ICN Congress for the world's nurses. The education, skills, and commitment to their profession of nurses in Finland are of the highest standard. Finnish nursing science research expertise also shines prominently on the global research stage. In June 2025, nurses from around the world will have a prime opportunity to network, learn, and share our common experiences in Helsinki, while also getting to know the Nordic healthcare system.

'A hundred years ago, the world’s nurses found their way to Helsinki. Today, routes and traveling have become much easier to navigate. We warmly welcome nurses from all over the world to find their way to happy and safe Finland in 2025. Together we, Nurses, are the Power to Change the World!”
