Casualties at Palestine Red Crescent

The International Council of Nurses deplores outright the casualties and the damage caused at the Palestine Red Crescent branch in Jabaliya, northern Gaza on 9 July when a dozen staff and volunteers were wounded and three ambulances destroyed.  “It is deplorable that healthcare workers are not only unable to deliver the much needed care to civilians in conflict zones but are themselves victims of indiscriminate destruction”, said David Benton, ICN CEO.  As a partner in the ICRC’s Health Care in Danger project, ICN works to make access to health care in situations of armed violence more secure.
