Following the success of the 2009 Global Nursing Leadership Institute ICN is delighted to invite applications for the 2010 ICN Global Nursing Leadership Institute (GNLI).
The GNLI will offer an advanced leadership programme for nurses in senior level and executive positions in high, medium and low income countries. It will draw on the expertise of faculty from International and intergovernmental agencies, governments, business and leading health professionals. The programme will enhance existing leadership knowledge and skills related to national and global health priorities.
In a safe and dynamic learning environment participants will:
- Learn about global health challenges from international health leaders
- Observe and analyse the leadership styles of global leaders from health and non-health backgrounds
- Develop their personal leadership capacity
- Learn from and provide support to each other as senior international peers
Methodologies will include: plenary and workshop sessions, working in development teams, site visits, peer review, wellness and personal refection sessions.
To ensure that the programme is effectively tailored, self-assessment tools will be employed before attendance. There will be ongoing evaluation of the quality of the GNLI experience and personal impact.
