Harriet N. Kapyepye is a Nurse/Midwife with four years of experience in clinical nursing and midwifery. After four years working on the bed side, Harriet enrolled back to college and did her first degree in nursing majoring in Education. With this qualification, she taught for eight years at a Nursing/Midwifery college.
In 2003 she obtained a Master’s degree in Nursing obtained from the Witwatersrand University in the Republic of South Africa. Following this qualification, Harriet joined the Nursing and Midwifery Regulatory body where she worked as Director of nursing and midwifery education.
In 2006 she joined the National Organisation of Nurses and Midwives of Malawi (NONM) as a Project Manager for the Caring for Caregivers Project. While working as a project manager, Harriet developed and coordinated other projects including the ICN TB Project. She received an award of excellence for her achievements in project management at the 2010 Annual General Meeting.
In September 2012 Harriet was promoted to the Executive Director of National Organisation of Nurses and Midwives of Malawi. She is also the Malawi Wellness Centre Manager.
