ICNP® research will be conducted at the Biomedical Knowledge Engineering Laboratory at Seoul National University in Korea. Researchers will develop a converting tool from ICNP to LexGrid. This project is a part of Research & Development of Semantically Interoperable EHR initiative in Korea. For an interoperable EHR, it is crucial to establish interoperability between various EHR systems. Ensuring semantic interoperability among different vocabularies and ontologies is the first and most important step. The researchers will test the feasibility of converting the ICNP model to the LexGrid model, which will the core data model for the project. The method will involve: * Understanding the data model of ICNP for scheme mapping to LexGrid. * Identification of equivalent elements between two data models - ICNP and LexGrid. * Identification of schema mapping from ICNP to LexGrid. * Validation of schemea mappings and analysis of possible pitfalls.
