Please join me in welcoming Dr. Dr. Lian-Hua Huang to the Core Steering Committee of the ICN Education Network. Dr. Huang is professor & director of Department of Nursing in the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. In addition, she serves as the director of Department of Nursing in the National Taiwan University Hospital.
Her education includes a PhD in Nursing (1988) from University of Colorado, USA, a masters degrees in Nursing (1984) from University of Colorado, USA., a masters degree in Genetic Counseling (1987) from University of Colorado, USA., an EMBA in Business Administration (2003) from National Taiwan University and a BS in Nursing from National Taiwan University.
As president of Taiwan Nurses Association (2009~2011), in facing to the continuing education needs of over 70,000 members, they organized free of charge workshops, conferences, seminars etc. in order to benefit those members who could not be away from worksite. Other outcomes included initiating digital long-distance learning courses, such as disaster nursing, nursing ethics, infection control etc. Her vision of the Education Forum is “a platform for global exchange, so that different countries can learn from each other, not only the system of continuing education, the ways of doing, but also the content of the courses. It is hoped that through the global collective efforts, ICN can help each NNA solving nursing problems in common in each country.”
At this time, we also thank Dr. Ibetoshi for her dedicated service to the inaugural core steering committee and wish her well.
