Hello International Nurses group. I found the following position for a nurse at a Magnet hospital in Lebanon and it got me thinking... what would I necessarily have to do to qualify for this position? I am a Registered Nurse in the US state of California, with a Public Health Nurse registration as well. I have a BSN - Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a MS - Master of Science in Nursing Informatics. But does that qualify me to work in a hospital in Lebanon? Looking at the position description it says you need the following:
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s of Nursing. -- got it.
Minimum Requirement: Nursing Colloquium, Nursing License from the Ministry of Public Health, and Registered in the Order of Nurses in Lebanon.
1. What is a Nursing Colloquium? With some internet research I found that this is some sort of nursing seminar? Do college credits count for this?
2. Nursing License from the Ministry of Public Health? I looked on the MPH for Lebanon website here http://www.moph.gov.lb/Pages/Home.aspx but couldn't find any info on obtaining a nursing license anywhere.
3. Registered in the Order of Nurses in Lebanon? One of the requirements on the webpage http://www.orderofnurses.org.lb/EnMenuRight/NursingPractice/Legislation/Legislation.html says that to practice He/she must be Lebanese and has reached nineteen years of age. Hmm I'm an American citizen. Would I have to get Lebanese citizenship first? Is that possible?
I guess I would need guidance on where to start? I am attempting to learn Arabic.. so that's a start. But with these regulations, I am not sure how possible it is to apply for this position. Any guidance or thoughts would help. Thanks!
