National Nurse Campaign

Postby cpatel5 » 15 Nov 2012, 07:27

Hi everyone,
The National Nurse Network organisation, which is an non-profit legislative advocacy organisation, is advocating for a National Nurse for Public Health in the US. The bill will make nurses more visible and improve the health of the nation by focusing on health promotion and prevention startegies. Nursing needs a representative at the highest level, paving the way for both current and future nurses. In addition, the National Nurse would be on the frontline for public health, having a voice in the future goals of health promotion and prevention. The National Prevention Council that was created by the Affordable Care Act delivers leadership at the highest level that focuses on health promotion and prevention for all Americans. This agency is chaired by the Surgeon General and the addition of the National Nurse would help to ensure the nursing involvement in the future of the nation’s health. I encourage all nursing organizations, nurses, nursing students and schools of nursing to support HR 3679, The National Nurse Act of 2011.
