Triad Meeting 2018

The Triad (ICN-ICM-WHO) meeting was held 18-19 May 2018 at the CICG. The purpose of the 1½ day meeting was to engage all participants and address issues of common interest and concern resulting in sharing of ideas and experiences and collaborative actions nationally, regionally and internationally. Participants will be empowered with the state-of-the-art evidence and operational experience on the case for investment in human resources for health (HRH), the analysis required to identify and implement effective policy options in the context of national health labour markets, issues around national and international migration, intersectoral coordination, HRH data, among others. 

Held every two years, the Triad meeting focused on topics such as Building nursing and midwifery capacity to achieve universal health coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals; Labour market dynamics and education policies in investing in the nursing and midwifery workforce; Optimizing performance, quality and impact of the nursing and midwifery workforce through evidence-informed policies; Strengthening nursing and midwifery data for monitoring and ensuring accountability for the implementation of national and regional strategies; and Strengthening nursing and midwifery through collaboration and partnerships.
