This year's World Healthcare Students Symposium is designed to provide a big-picture view of interdisciplinary collaboration. The schedule is organized to show how this multidisciplinary approach plays out in the real world. Through this interactive event, students will not only gain insight from professors and practitioners who model this way of practice, but also gain valuable networks with other students within their own field of practice and other student health professionals.
As the organization of health care is transforming, students must lead their respective fields to shape the future of healthcare. A common theme in this evolution is interprofessional collaboration. When healthcare professionals work together, we can all promote better patient outcomes, minimize expenditure, and limit errors. Cooperation and collaboration between disciplines promotes communication and allows each individual team member to provide their expertise regarding whatever situation is in front of them.
