[Excerpt from Preface]This Nuffield Trust report focuses on the third phase of the Health Policy Futures series and is based on work by a team led by Professor Dame Sandra Dawson at the Judge Business School at Cambridge University. This third and final phase of work examines the current health and care needs of people in England and the human resources and facilities that will be required to meet these needs in the future. It develops three scenarios for how patients, citizens and carers (both professional and informal) might engage with the health and social care system in 2022 and looks at the implications of each.
