A high-level nursing colloquium on Ebola, jointly organized by and the International Council of Nurses and the General Nursing Council of Spain, will be held in late October in Madrid in order to analyse the global situation and exchange experiences, lessons to be learned and changes that could be introduced to minimize risk associated with the care and treatment of infected individuals. The colloquium will bring together the most renowned nurse experts in Ebola as well as representatives from those countries where the disease is more prevalent, and where repatriated cases have been cared for. As the call for volunteers goes out in piecemeal and unsystematic way, it is imperative that we work collaboratively on this major issue.
